Steve's new hobby of Political comics has won him 10s of thousands of hits per week. Steve's website links to me as an editor, webmaster, etc. eventually his politics are going to wash onto my completely unrelated sites and hobbies. So now I'm going in to restrict access to personal journals, info, etc. So any lurkers out there interested in this information are just going to have to add me to their friends lists.

Sorry for any inconvenience but I'm just trying to nip this in the bud before it becomes an issue. Politics are a HOT topic and I don't want my kids involved.

Thanks!

PS ART post will remain public as well as any "business" type posts.

Mac Vs PC

Some people are trying to raise money for new computers and were wondering what kind they should buy. I left the short version in a comment but thought I'd post the long version so everyone knows where I stand.

I've been using PCs for 20 years. That's a long time. that's right after DOS and BEFORE WINDOWS.

This being said. I KNOW PCs. I can use any PC. I've never encountered a PC that was well maintained that I couldn't use. I have however been unfortunate enough to have had issues with EVERY mac I've used. Even after shelling out the bucks for a Mac class or two, I just can't get the hang of them.

My PC is over 3 years old. And It's still able to hold it's own against the current releases. Having had said computer for 3 years, I know it inside and out. There aren't to many things that have gone wrong that I couldn't fix. In fact, I notice something is wrong within moments of the problem occurring.

In addition to all of that, I am a 3D animator, and the programs (3ds Max) that I use are not Mac compatible, it just doesn't work, they may have come up with a program here or there that can almost bridge the gap, but it's just not compatible.

So yes I'm very attached to PCs. Nothing is going to change that.

I will also say this. If you own a PC then you need to save up money for Webroot AntiVirus with Spysweeper. It's a lifesaver. It's the best AntiVirus program that I've ever encountered.

OUT.

I've spent the last few days organizing my office, hard files, bookshelves, desk, storage.

I decided that since I was bored doing that I'd give my PC a go... 20 gigs of portfolio... TWENTY.

Over 130 original pieces of art. Only half of which are thrown about the web.

What's this got to do with anything? Well it means that I'm gonna try to get my portfolios together. Meaning massive uploads to my NON-regulated accounts. My Journal, My website, My DevArt, ConceptArt, and where ever else I can remember opening an account in the last 5 years. I may even open a few new accounts if I can get everything organized so that it's easy to maintain.

In addition to my 20 gig portfolio, I also have 20 gigs of Photography that's 4000 photographs, that's 40 gigs of my hard drive dedicated to art.

I decided during all of my cleaning that 3 backups are not enough, so I'm making a 4th. after the organization is complete. I'll probably make a 5th. Why? Because I've lost 4 copies of something before, that's why.

So yeah.

FORTY FRIGGING GIGS!

Okay so once again a tack has been placed in the production of Xenida:memories and myths.

But it's for a better reason this time. I am finishing my professional portfolio and demo reel. Note he confidence there.

It's been about 5 years since I've had the drive to work as steadily as I have been and I want to use that drive before it fizzles out.

I had to stop working on something to begin working on the demo reel again, and I haven't heard too much interest in Xenida in a while. So even though I know it's a project worth completing, it's the only one I have right now with out a deadline. If there is any interest in this project then let me know and I can try to work it into my schedule every once in a while.

As for the deadline on my portfolio I have set it for June 2009. This means that I can re-enroll in school and hopefully have my BFA by October!

http://hajek-barbara.deviantart.com for my professional work as I finish it, along with the occasional foray into the Xenida world.

http://sintercia.deviantart.com for my stock photos as I post those online.

That's it for now. later.

I will be there August 5 - 9.

Sweet.

New web site right after that.

Portfolio work will be put up on a domain that Steve in buying and I'll be putting aside a little space for this little project. I have not started drawing the comic again yet but I have been drawing. This is a good thing. The class I'm taking this term requires alot of drawing. Roughly 20-30 hours a week outside of class. Maybe i'll get lucky and budget in a few extra for this. I would really like to.

I DID NOT LIE. As of mid July I had a new site ready to up but keenspace was down and now that It's the first of August I hope to start drawing again. So I'm not ready to give up yet.

My drawing abilities have showed improvement over the last few weeks of school so that will be a nice treat when this project resumes.

I will have the new website UP and RUNNING by August 18. My deadline. I will meet it.

This means IF I can budget the time after this trip I will update the comic by.... Tentative date September 1. And I will update, hopefully, 1 page per , month in the comic. And WEEKLY on the portfolio site.

Portfolio IS my priority. November is my deadline for Portfolio. It HAS to be done. I am READY to graduate. My portfolio however is not.

Up to Chops.

Has to be done.

And I WILL do it.

He joined with a young women by the name of Quinn and shortly after she died a rather painful death, He felt every moment and could do nothing.

Any surprise I'd post up a funeral image after the week I've had?
